Come and enjoy our FREE petting zoo! Children and adults alike will have a blast interacting with the numerous farm animals we have to offer. Feed is available through coin-operated machines for a quarter. Guests can feed our alpacas, goats, sheep, and llama. Alpacas - Jacinto (Jack), breed- Hacaya. Avan, breed- Suri. Alpaca fiber is incredibly soft and luxurious. Centuries ago, the Incas of South America cherished alpaca’s and their fiber so much that woven alpaca fiber was reserved only for royalty. Goats - We have 5 goats at Collegeville Orchards: Snickers, Milky Way, Damsel, Shirley, and Daisy. They all love to play and be fed by our guests. Sheep - Twenty-five sheep reside at Collegeville Orchards. Typically 3-5 sheep are in the petting zoo at a time. Our sheep are purebred Shetland sheep. They are a small, hardy breed that are raised for their fine wool. Llama - Rudy. Don’t worry I DO NOT SPIT at people. Potbelly Pig - Penelope. My two favorite things are having my belly rubbed and of course EATING Miniature Donkey - Tumbleweed. Our actor. You may have seen him playing the donkey in the Avon Community Church Christmas play. Miniature Horse - Sam. I am the leader of the petting zoo group. Rabbits - Everest is French Angora rabbit. Wolfgang is English Angora We may have additional animals in our petting zoo depending on the time of the year. We commonly have chicks or ducklings.
